The V Speech, V for Vendetta
3D kinetic typography
2009
I love typography and creative language. It seemed natural to animate something that would be interesting to read and listen to, so I chose the creative V Speech from the movie V for Vendetta. I chose this font for the whole video, even though it is very much a display font, because I felt it embodied some of the feel you get from seeing the actors in this scene. It has character. I animated this word by word in Autodesk Maya 2008, then combined all of the rendered images into a movie using Adobe After Effects CS4. The video is actually rendered twice: once for color, then once for the shading. I overlaid the shading renders in After Effects.
